Stadium Centre Lofts
The Stadium Centre Lofts is a mixed-use building conveniently located near the Minnesota State University campus, in Mankato, MN. It was designed as a vertical addition to an existing retail facility.
The design creates visual interest and a cohesive overall design through varying textures and the incorporation of local materials. To overcome the unique challenge of vertical expansion, the new addition uses steel columns as movement resistant frames for stabilizing the upper structure. This maximized the utilization of the existing site and increased functionality with additional housing, ultimately increasing revenue generated by the facility.
The layout features 16 studios, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, plus four tenant retail spaces on the main level. Each apartment offers an open-concept kitchen and living area, while corner units feature multiple large floor-to-ceiling windows.
