Overview

The City of Mayer required a new fire station to accommodate their needs and provide a more safe and efficient facility. The 14,909 square-foot precast concrete structure includes offices, a large conference/training room with an adjacent kitchen, SCBA room, hose tower with accommodations for training, designated gear grid areas, and eight apparatus bays.

A Bid Alternate for two additional bays was included in the bid documents to allow the city to evaluate the cost for the additional bays, and the bid alternate was ultimately accepted. Additionally, a preliminary schedule included in the bid documents helped guide the project timeline. The construction was successfully completed two days ahead of the date specified in the contract documents. With close coordination by the Brunton team, the new fire station was completed well under the initial budget.
