Marshalltown VA Outpatient Clinic

The Marshalltown VA Outpatient Clinic offers primary care and specialty health services for Central Iowa’s veterans. The facility is designed to be bright, modern, and patient-oriented at every turn.

The previous Marshalltown clinic had several drawbacks including its smaller size, lack of natural light, and inefficient layout. To better meet the medical needs of Central Iowa’s veterans, the new 12,000 SF facility was designed to be a therapeutic and enriching, home-like environment. A seamless transition from exterior to interior is achieved with ample visual and physical access to nature throughout the building. This approach promotes healing, patient autonomy, respect, and privacy, while providing a welcoming and familiar environment. 

The patient experience was thoughtfully planned out, with the most frequently utilized services positioned prominently at the front of the building. A central staff hub facilitates easy communication and efficient workflows. Clinic departments include primary care, cardiology, optometry, physical therapy and military sexual trauma care.
