This existing building, located in downtown Mankato, is a good example of what could be done to help revitalize the downtown urban fabric in Mankato. This building residing on Fourth Street in Mankato (near the Mankato Public Library) was studied to determine what could be accomplished to give the exterior of the building a fresh appeal. Metal canopies, new windows with reflective glass, exterior light fixtures, and brick paver patios were added to the building to help acheive this design goal. Additionally, a small building addition was shown to house the new entrance and second floor conference room spaces. The before and after images are shown below. |
