Community Bank (designed while at I&S)
Community Bank, a local bank with branches in Vernon Center and Mankato, requested a building design that would make an architectural statement to the surrounding community. This task was accomplished by incorporating precast concrete panels with brick and stone inlays, metal accents, and large reflective and tinted glass areas together. The two story, 16,500 square foot, Wells Concrete precast building, boasts clerestory windows that bring an abundance of natural light into the center atrium spaces of the building giving the space an "open feeling". A portion of the main level of the building and the entire second level of the building are leased to tenants of complimentary businesses. Brunton Architects office can be found on the second level of this magnificent structure. Corey Brunton, while employed at I & S Engineers & Architects, Inc., was the lead project architect for this building design and was responsible for the overall architectural conceptual design of the building, including development of preliminary floor plans, exterior building design, and overall building site layout plans. His responsibilities included meeting with the client, developing design development drawings of the floor plans and exterior elevations, and overseeing the development of the project computer model for owners review.
